Two friends met the Master of Fate to discuss their respective roles in the next cycle of reincarnation.
“What are you going to be?” Asked the first.
“I am going to be a prince.” Replied the second.
“A prince! why?”
“Last time I was born as a pauper and died from starvation. That was not pleasant. As a prince, I’ll always have enough. How about you?”
“Interesting that you mentioned wanting to be a prince. I was a prince in my previous life and was poisoned. I can tell you that too was unpleasant. I was thinking to stay away from power and money this time.”
The Master who silently was watching asked, “Have you researched your past lives in the Hall of Records deeper than your immediate past life?”
With that question, past lives memories flooded into the awareness of both friends. They remembered dozens of times being a prince, a pauper, a man, a woman, a parent, a child, a giver, a taker, an aggressor and a victim.
Their consciousness could not handle the enormous pressure of their past actions along with thousands of personalities, thought patterns, emotions and physical attributes of them.
Master of Fate allowed the memories to fade into the background and asked, “Are you planning to replay the same roles once more in the same play or are you ready for something beyond the bondage of your past?”
