Sustaining anything in life either positive or negative requires our continuous attention.
Withdrawal of attention is a sure way to destroy anything from personal growth to health and finances to relationships.
Out of sight out of mind means that people or things that are no longer visible or present are soon forgotten.
However, experiences in life show that we remember individuals and things we have not seen for decades. And there are people and things that we see every day and treat them as if they are invisible.
It is not what is visible; it is what attracts our attention and even more significant is what we choose to pay attention to that we remember.
Attention is a fundamental resource needed to learn and to progress toward goals. Attention could also be focused on what prevents learning and making progress.
Every religious, political, social and financial organization caters to and even creates shorter and shorter attention spans. And this shorter attention span is rarely if ever focused on what benefits you.
If you don’t take the steps to preserve, nurture and improve your attention span, who will? If you do not take the steps necessary to focus your attention on what helps you reach your goals, who will?
What happens to personal freedoms, choices, goals, and achievements when attention is shortened and taken away or even given away freely?
